The principle

Radiesse® is a volumizing product based on calcium hydroxyapatite, a form of calcium naturally present in our bodies. It therefore presents no risk of rejection or allergy. It is completely resorbable and biocompatible.

Radiesse® inejction is used for two main indications: filling wrinkles and restoring volume. It reshapes the oval of the face. It’s a perfectly effective filler for deep wrinkles, the corner of the mouth, bitterness folds, facial depressions and for reshaping the oval of the face. What’s more, it stimulates natural collagen production, helping to firm and tighten skin by stimulating the natural process of cell regeneration. Hence the name ” collagen inducer “.

Radiesse

How the session unfolds

Radiesse® injections are always preceded by a medical consultation with a physician specialized in aesthetics (aesthetic physician, dermatologist or plastic surgeon). At Claris Clinic, injections are always performed by specialized, experienced practitioners. During this consultation, the doctor will examine the area to be treated and discuss your medical history and expectations.

Session duration varies according to the indication to be treated. On average, it lasts between twenty and thirty minutes. The doctor makes a diagnosis for each patient to determine the precise points on which Radiesse® injections will be made to achieve optimum results.

After cleansing and removing make-up, the doctor injects Radiesse® (or calcium hydroxyapatite) into the dermis, using a very fine needle or a fine cannula (small hollow tube with a blunt tip), a few millimeters deep. The injection is painless, as the product contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic that enhances patient comfort during treatment. If necessary, an anesthetic ointment can be applied to the treated area in addition to lidocaine.

After the injections

After Radiesse® injection, some very mild side effects may occur. The injection area may become sensitive, and some redness and/or swelling may appear, but these will disappear after around 24 hours. Minor bruising may also occur at injection sites. The injections leave no marks or scars, and activities can be resumed immediately.

The results

Results are visible as soon as the session is over. Hematomas, redness or ecchymosis may appear within 24 hours of injection. Slight swelling may persist for 2 to 5 days, but is always reversible.

As soon as the injection is over, the vector gel slowly resorbs and has completely disappeared after 4 months. Meanwhile, calcium crystals stimulate our dermis cells (called fibroblasts) to synthesize collagen. The latter forms a kind of scaffolding in our dermis, filling the space left by the vector gel. Radiesse® calls on the body’s natural processes to naturally stimulate collagen production.

radiesse

Radiesse® treatment results may vary depending on age, skin quality, the amount of product injected and the area treated, but in general, patients can expect :

  • Significant reduction in wrinkles and fine lines on the face, neck and décolleté
  • Increased cheekbone and cheek volume
  • Improved skin texture
  • A reduction in the appearance of visible veins on the hands
  • Remodeling of the injected area

The effects of Radiesse® last from 12 to 18 months, depending on the patient and lifestyle.
