Intimate aesthetic surgery mainly involves labia minora surgery (also known as nymphoplasty or labiaplasty). The other types of surgical procedures are usually performed by gynaecologists.
In some cases, women with protruding labia minora may experience difficulties with hygiene, pain during sexual intercourse, discomfort during daily activities (in particular while playing sports) or when wearing tight-fitting clothes.
Labia minora reduction is a procedure carried out in aesthetic clinics, whether on its own or in combination with another procedure.
Labia minora surgery (nymphoplasty)
The procedure involves removing the excess mucosa of the labia minora. The most commonly used technique is the triangular technique, which consists of removing the skin in the shape of a triangle in the lower half of the labia minora. This technique ensures that the natural folds and aesthetic look of the labia minora are preserved. There is no visible scarring as the incision is stitched in the junction between the labia majora and the labia minora.
